Since Danielle started this blog, she has been pestering me to post something. However, I have been waiting for the right moment when I had something worthwhile to add. That moment has now arrived.
I recently read Danielle’s post entitled “Sans Singlans.” In case you haven’t read this Pulitzer-worthy account, my fiancee explains in great detail (with pictures!) some silly tradition that her friends have.
I would just like to state for the public record that this is one of the dumbest things I have ever seen. Here are several reasons why:
1) Not only did I take several required French classes in college, but I have also been to France. “Sans Singlans” means “Without Singlans.” That is not real language.
2) Certain things should make you cry (examples include death and onions). A cake with a pseudo-French saying on it is not one of them.
It is times like this that I am proud not to be a woman.
Until next time…
